4 Day Skye

Tour Description
If you want to experience the very best that Scotland has to offer, then this is the tour for you!
Our 4-day Skye & Highlands tour begins with a trip past the impressive Forth Bridges as we head toward the Kingdom of Fife and Perthshire. We will stop at Dunkeld for a walk around the ancient cathedral or for a coffee and cake by the river from one of many charming bakeries, including Aran, run by Flora from “The Great British Bake Off.” As we meander through the Cairngorms National Park, we’ll try to spot reindeer and visit the fabulous Dalwhinnie Distillery to learn how “uisge beatha” (whisky in English) is made. Enjoy a spectacular drive along the iconic Loch Ness, or take a moment to enjoy the shimmering waters before we arrive in Inverness for an evening filled with music, and maybe even a chance to see the northern lights!
**Day 2** Today, we head over the breathtaking Glen Docherty, with its sweeping hills and abundance of wild deer, towards the Kyle of Lochalsh and onto the Isle of Skye. We will stop for lunch in the charming town of Kyleakin, which has a rich history of Viking invasions and wartime battles. We’ll explore some of the best sites Skye has to offer, including the stunning Old Man of Storr rock formation, hunting for faeries in the Fairy Glen, swimming in the Sligachan River (said to grant eternal youth), and enjoying a lovely traditional meal in Portree, with its charming harbour and painted houses.
**Day 3** We can start today with a hearty breakfast of haggis and black pudding before driving to the top of The Quiraing, where awe-inspiring rock formations date back over 60 million years. We can walk around a traditional Highland croft at the Museum of Island Life or go hunting for dinosaur footprints on the beach—can you find them all? In the afternoon, we will leave Skye via ferry to the lovely fishing village of Mallaig, known for its quaint shops and abundant restaurants. As we make our way towards Fort William, we’ll stop to watch the Hogwarts Express cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct, just like it did in the movie. Finally, it’s time for a pint in one of the many pubs in Fort William.
**Day 4** – For our last day, let’s start with a trip to the top of the UK’s highest mountain range and enjoy views of Ben Nevis from the UK’s only mountain gondolas. Next, immerse yourself in rich Scottish history as we travel back to 1692 and the Glencoe Massacre. Walk through the glen and admire the splendour of the scenery and the history that echoes through the hills. We’ll finish our day with a trip to Stirlingshire, where you can visit the impressive Stirling Castle perched high above the city or climb the Wallace Monument to see Wallace’s personal claymore sword before we return to Edinburgh. This is one trip you will never forget!
