5 Day Highlands and Skye

Tour Description
“Ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Our 5-day trips around the Highlands and Skye will not disappoint!
Day 1: We begin in Edinburgh and head west, our first destination being Stirling Castle, known for its haunting history and spectacular views. Next, we will visit the iconic Loch Lomond, where we’ll spend some time enjoying the beautiful banks of this picturesque loch. Our next stop is Inveraray, home to a castle celebrated for its Gothic Revival architecture, beautiful gardens, and impressive collection of artifacts. We will finish the day in the seaside town of Oban, famous as the Seafood Capital of Scotland.
Day 2: Today we journey to the Isle of Skye, passing through the stunning landscapes of Glencoe and Rannoch Moor, and making our way towards the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. We will travel through the enchanting Great Glen, stopping for photos of the Hogwarts Express as it passes the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, a beloved film location for Harry Potter fans. Afterward, we’ll take a ferry from Mallaig to Skye and embark on our island adventures, soaking in stunning scenery, iconic viewpoints, and magical pools as we head to our accommodation.
Day 3: We’ll spend the morning at sites such as the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock before leaving the island via the bridge. Next, we’ll explore Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland’s most photographed castle. Then, we’ll go off the beaten track across the stunning Applecross Peninsula, driving the world-famous Bealach na Bà road, known for its steep gradients, sharp hairpin bends, and breathtaking views, before concluding the day in the charming city of Inverness.
Day 4: Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the variety of attractions around Inverness. We can spend some time on Loch Ness, taking in the spectacular scenery or perhaps going on a monster hunt. Follow in the footsteps of the Jacobites with a visit to Culloden Battlefield or wander through the quaint gardens of Cawdor Castle. Inverness also offers various attractions, including the Cathedral and the castle, as well as great shopping for those who prefer a quieter day.
Day 5: On the final day of the tour, we head back towards Edinburgh on a scenic drive through the gorgeous Cairngorms National Park, home to rare and endangered species like the Scottish wildcat, red squirrel, osprey, golden eagle, and capercaillie. We will stop in the picturesque town of Aviemore for lunch before exploring the Highland Folk Museum, Britain’s first open-air museum that showcases the lives of people in the Scottish Highlands from the 1700s to the mid-20th century. We will take an evening break in the Victorian village of Pitlochry to enjoy some well-deserved whisky from the local Blair Athol distillery before making our way back to Edinburgh via the beautiful Kingdom of Fife.”
